Mister Alfredo Linguini. A man who has found himself in a world of elegance and class he has never had the opportunity nor the ambition to pursue. The meteoric rise of this star in the culinary world has given him everything he has ever wished for: a woman who he loves, a business which thrives. It will all come tumbling down with a single secret. A secret which Mister Linguini believes he has kept under his hat. Your dinner reservations are set. Tonight you dine in the Twilight Zone.
“Alfredo Linguini, the humble janitor turned chef turned restaurateur, the heir to a crown two sizes too big, and the twisted farce of the old tale of Pinnochio. A real boy, puppeted as if on strings by the lowliest of creatures Paris had to offer, and yet their unlikely partnership revealed the truth behind his estranged father’s eternal words of wisdom; anyone can cook. For you see, while not everyone can become a great artist, a great artist can come from anywhere, even the Twilight Zone.”

Ginger Conejero: What would a conviction mean for the community?
Trixie Maristela: It would send a strong message. It would prevent future crimes and violence against trans women.
We need to have laws that will protect her rights. We’re praying for justice.]

The 2014 slaying of Jennifer Laude, a transgender woman in the Philippines, sparked major protests in her home country and beyond. Now, more than a year after her death, the U.S. Marine accused of killing the 26-year-old has been found guilty by a court in the Philippines.

Ginger Conejero: Well, I know we may have to wrap up soon, there’s something very important that I do wanna ask you.
We are awaiting, you know, the promulgation…
Trixie Maristela: Yes.
Ginger Conejero: …on the Jennifer Laude case. I know it speaks volumes for the LGBT community.
Trixie Maristela: Correct.
Ginger Conejero: What would a conviction mean for the community?
Trixie Maristela: If Pemberton would be convicted it would send a strong message, and it would prevent future crimes and violence against trans women from happening again.
‘Cause, you know, I believe it would be a deterrent factor if ever he gets convicted, and we don’t want any future Jennifer Laudes or any crimes, violence against trans women to happen again.
That’s why you know I think we really need to have laws to protect the rights and welfare.
Ginger Conejero: And in the case that it, uh the family would not get the sentence that they were looking for, that he would be convicted of murder. Do you think that the community would see it as a… you know, where would it gauge that kind of promulgation?
Trixie Maristela: I think it’s gonna be a very sad news, because later on probably people would not be afraid of inflicting you know, violence against trans women, and it would be sad for the family as well, if justice will not be served.
So you know, we’re hoping for the best, and we’re praying for justice.]
